Guides

Practical guides to neighborhood noise, from the makers of the Widgita noise map.

• How noisy is my neighborhood? — Check before you rent or buy: the four-step check, what the score means, and what a map can't tell you.
• Living near an airport — Why runway direction matters more than distance, and how to read airport noise contours.
• Train noise and level crossings — Line noise, crossing horns, night freight, and what the map doesn't model.
• How the noise score works — Sources, dB-style math, and the limits of the 0–10 score.
